Our
in-house Low Voltage, High Power Laboratory is
a group of five major testing facilities, for
complete evaluation of LV Switchgear and Control
gear Products :
- Short Circuit Test Laboratory 50 kA rms, 120
kA peak, 660 V ac. 50 kA, 1000V dc.
- Electrical Endurance Laboratory For Contactors
upto 630A, 415V ac.
- Temperature Rise Test Laboratory 6400A, 6.4V,
3 phase and 10,000A, 2.5V, single phase.
- 4 kA Short Circuit Test Laboratory For short
circuit tests on Rewirable Fuse Switch Units,
MCBs etc. Electrical endurance test on MCBS,
MCCBs, FSUs and DOL Starters.
- Mechanical Endurance Laboratory Mechanical
life of Contactors, ACBS, MCBS, MCCBS, FSUs
and DOL Starters.
Individual Laboratories or a suitable combination
can also be used for the specific purpose of development
/ proving tests on ACBS, MCBS, MCCBS, Switch Fuses
/ Fuse Switches, Rewirable HRC Fuses, Contactors,
Starters, etc. for conformance to the International
Standards.
These facilities can also be used for Dynamic
Peak Withstand Current tests on series connected
equipments like Busbars and Supports in Panels,
Current Transformers, Motor Terminal Boxes, Isolators,
Busducts and Cable Joints.
The Laboratory provides a powerful support to
our efforts in product development, improvement,
cost reduction, performance up gradation and import
substitution of components.
The LVHP Laboratory is administered as an "Autonomous
Institution", and a Strategic Unit of the
TECHNOLOGY GROUP. Hence Tests and Certifications
carried out in the Laboratory are widely recognised
not only in Crompton Greaves Limited but also
in the Electrical Industry.
