Quality Systems:
The Quality System group works as implementation
facilitator for ISO quality systems from design
stages [in R&D] till customer's satisfaction
stages. Its main work revolves round the ISO implementation,
six-sigma implementation, reliability improvements
for CG products, and promotion of use of scientific
development tools such as Quality Function Deployment,
Design Of Experiments, & Failure Mode and
Effect Analysis.
Material Science:
The Material Science Group work in the areas of
powder metallurgy for application in circuit breakers,
electro ceramics for application as linear &
nonlinear resisters, polymers for insulation application
in high voltage apparatus, soft & hard magnetic
materials for motors and transformers & surface
finishing systems.
Electrical
& High Voltage Engg: The Electrical
& High Voltage Group work in the areas of
Capacitors, transformers, switchgears, & Power
Quality improvements.
Analytical
Modeling, Analysis: The Group works on
design , analysis & prediction of performance
of products and systems. Fully equipped with the
latest software tools, the Group contributes substantially
to the development cycle & helps in the development
time.
Industrial
Design Centre: The group works on the industrial
design of products with integrating functional
requirements with focus on ergonomics, aesthetics
& improved productivity.
Technical Information
Services: The Group facilitates generation
, documentation & dissemination of latest
technological and business information to aid
the R&D activities. It has built the necessary
infrastructure & acts as a live wire in IPR
issues related to the developments.
Low Voltage
High Power: The low voltage high power
group specializes on switchgear reliability evaluation,
life assessment & support the development
in contact system & operating mechanism. It
is a well-equipped facility to evaluate the short
time current withstanding, making and breaking
capacities of switchgear.
Electronics
Design Centre: The Electronics design centre
works on development of intelligent systems for
our power apparatus, such as:-
- Electronics for switchgear
- Brushless DC motor technology
- Power Quality
- Inverters for traction application
