>> TECHNOLOGY CELL

The Technology Cell was formed in 1993 with a clear purpose to achieve and maintain World Class Standards in the products that the Division manufactures

Vision Of Technology Cell

To be a leader in the field of switching and control systems and devices for measurement, protection and control of electrical power.

Several goals form the pathway to achieving and sustaining this leadership status.

  • Achieving self reliance in core competencies for products & processes
  • Speedy development of reliable, cost effective, marketable and highly productive quality products
  • Building world class technology image by international presence; exhibitions and publications
  • 20% of exports from the products developed in the preceding 3 years
Strategy
  • Build competent technology core groups.
  • Exploit the knowledge available at the national and international institutions through strategic alliances.
  • Keep in-pace with the new trends and prioritize activities accordingly. Provide appropriate training for the Engineers.
  • Develop products that are manufacture - and - customer friendly.
  • Initiate automation at the developmental stages to enhance the productivity and to attain zero defect level during the manufacture.
Team Members

The Technology Cell has a number of Highly Qualified and Experienced Engineers with capability of designing and developing MV & HV Circuit Breakers/Instrument Transformers/ Transformer Bushings/Grading Capacitors/ On Load Tap Chargers/ Lightining Arresters etc.

  • During the last five years, the technology engineers have developed many new products in medium voltage and high voltage switchgear creating an additional market base of approx. Rs. 450 crores. Crompton Greaves Switchgear has achieved the status of having the largest product range in MV Switchgear.
  • The cell has developed Core competency in mechanism analysis, electric field plotting, dielectric design, electromagnetic design, transient performance, epoxy insulation etc. The area of core competency is in the process of constant expansion.
  • The cell has presented many Technical Papers at International seminars.
