CG (CROMPTON GREAVES) BAGS MAJOR CONTRACTS WORTH RS 600 CRORE
FOR SUPPLY, ERECTION, TESTING & COMMISSIONING OF
765 kV Shunt Reactors from PGCIL

CG part of the USD 4 billion Avantha Group, with manufacturing bases in 8 countries, along with its partner company ZTR of Ukraine, has bagged contracts for supply, erection, testing & commissioning of 765kV Shunt Reactors to PGCIL for their various projects across the country.

The project denotes a strategic entry into the UHV market given the fact that the contract was won against stiff global competition from Indian and Multinational companies.  765kV is the highest system voltage in the country.

The scope of the contract includes Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 86 nos. 765 kV Shunt Reactors and is scheduled for completion in July 2012.

With this, Crompton Greaves has become the first Indian company to have firmly established itself as a major and reliable player in the UHV segment.
